The reverse side of the card is inscribed "Merry Christmas / and a / Happy New Year / from / Bernhard." Printed on the card is: "Fabrication Française." The card is accompanied by an envelope mailed by Bernhard Christenson, likely an American soldier serving in World War I, from a camp hospital in France, addressed to Bernice Rockness in Seattle, Washington.
