Description

Partial manuscript for Jim Archibald's book "Heaven High, Hell Deep," part one of three, circa 1930-1935. Part of a series of 126 pages of handwritten, typed, corrected, and printed drafts from various iterations of Norman Archibald's manuscript, circa 1930-1935. Primarily consists of multiple versions of a chapter on flying with the Pursuit Squadron in France and the importance of an aviator's mechanic. Other materials include an author biography, a narrative synopsis of the book, and two printed, torn-out portions of the book describing his experiences in the prison camp. Archibald's book "Heaven High, Hell Deep" was published in 1935 by Albert and Charles Boni, Inc., New York.
