Photograph of a memorial near a crashed aircraft at Roosevelt Field, New York, circa 1919. The gravestone reads: "Here lies Old Man Flying of Roosevelt Field. Because he got eager and pulled the rough deal / Grass cutting advanced flying was his error, / And into this grave he was shoved in terror. May 16, 1919."

Inscription: "L. I. New York."
