Photograph of a plaque on a monument commemorating Task Force Smith, South Korea, circa 1950s. The plaque reads: "In commemoration. On this site 5 July 1950 406 men of 'Task Force Smith' 21st Infantry and Battery 'A,' 52nd Field Artillery Battalion, 24th Infantry Division, fought the initial action between United States troops and the communist aggresors."

Inscription on verso: "7 miles north of K-58. First engagement of U. S. Forces in Korea."
