Description
Photograph of stuntman Wesley "Wes" May climbing from Frank Hawks' Lincoln Standard J-1 to Earl Daugherty's Curtiss JN-4 Jenny, November 21, 1921. May has a can of gasoline strapped to his back to refuel Daugherty's aircraft. This stunt is credited as the first aerial refueling of an aircraft.
