Caption on verso: "PRA-425. Curtiss-Wright Corporation. Airplane Division. Buffalo, New York. Row of shark-mouthed P-40 Tomahawks at an air base somewhere in China. These Tomahawks were flown by the famous Flying Tigers, formerly commanded by Maj. Gen. Claire L. Chennault. During the 8 months of operation against the Japanese in Burma and Southeast China, the Flying Tigers were credited with more than 500 enemy planes definitely destroyed as against the loss of only 8 Curtiss P-40s in aerial combat. Inscription on verso: "Curtiss P-40K [illegible]. These are U.S.A.A.C. P-40K, not Flying Tiger (AVG). Same old nose marking. Note change of wing insignia from Chinese 12-point star to 5- point."
