Stamped on verso: "SC 239109. V-2 Rocket Test White Sands Proving Grounds (#7). In conjunction with the firing of the V-2 Rocket at White Sands Proving Grounds, New Mexico, May 10, 1946, by U. S. Army Ordnance personnel many steps were necessary in assembling and placing the missile for the test. Here, the rocket is hoisted into place on a four foot platform with the aid of Mieller wagon. It was transported six and a half miles from base camp to the technical area where the test took place."
