Also included are two papers relating to the deeds of Lee Embree that brought about the award. Box and medal will be displayed in the PCW. Papers will be stored elsewhere.

The medal is octagonal bronze, with a bald eagle, stars and scroll on one side and a U.S. shield, and laural and olive leaves. It says, "Soldier's Medal for Valor." The piece is engraved, "Tech Sgt. Lee R. Embree, Air Corps, june 25, 1942." The ribbon is blue with a red and white striped center. Interestingly, this version of the medal seems to be affixed to its ribbon backwards.
