Medal is attached to a blue grosgrain ribbon with three sets of white, red, and black vertical stripes. The medal is round and made from a bronze metal. On the front of the medal is a raised Navy cruiser with a B-24 airplane flying overhead with a sinking enemy submarine in the foreground on three wave symbols. In the background are two buildings and above the scene are the words "American Campaign." On the reverse, a bald eagle is between the dates "1941 - 1945" and the words "United States of America" all in raised lettering, and a small stamped "W" enclosed in a circle (maker's mark). Medal was originally mounted on cardboard with blue felt frontside; cardboard is stored in same bag as medal.
