One star is white enamel surrounded by gold metal borders. In the crevices of the star points, the second six-pointed star emerges, made of gold metal with vertical striations. The center of the medal is a circle with a gold outer border and green enamel backdrop. On the backdrop, an image of the country of Vietnam in gold, with a red three-pointed flame in the center. The back of the medal features a circle with an outer border containing "Chien-dich / Boi-tinh" in stamped lettering. The circle itself says "Viet-nam" in stamped lettering in the center, with horizontal striping above and below the text.
