"This publication consists of 24 maps covering the Nansei Shoto.... The base maps in each case has been taken from the V3 series of aviation charts published by the Hydrographic Office.... Additional intelligence has been shown in red. All 24 maps are on a uniform scale. the scale of the V3 series of charts is one inch equals three nautical miles; an attempt has been made to maintain this same scale for the published maps, but due to the methods of reproduction used, there may be minor variations in this scale. Where possible, adjoining maps overlap." -Introduction.
