The Tacoma to Tokyo Fokker C.IVA Photographs contains two black-and-white photographs depicting a 1923 Fokker C.IVA airplane used by Robert "Bob" Wark and Eddie Brown in an attempt to fly from Tacoma, Washington to Tokyo, Japan for a contest sponsored by the Seattle Star. It is likely these photographs were taken in Tacoma, Washington. The men modified the aircraft for long-distance travel, including removing the passenger seats and adding a larger fuel tank. Despite these alterations, their attempt failed due to mechanical difficulties. Each photograph is 4 x 2.5 inches and depicts a left-side facing view of the aircraft. People are present in each photograph, although no captions are present to identify individuals.
