The verso caption notes that the receiver was developed for the Ontario Forestry Branch and describes the device's components and specifications.
Typed caption on verso: "V. The control head for the Ontario Forestry Branch of the Dept. of Lands and Forests of Canada. It operated on two frequencies: 3300 and 4775. Frequency selection was done by the frequency control lever, which pushed and pulled a shafting through its housing. As you will note, it was for both CW and phone and an antenna reel-in and reel-out switch and was designed to work with one of our first electric remote control reels."Creation Datecirca 1931-1939SubjectLear DevelopmentsRadio--Transmitters and transmissionRadio in aeronauticsAids to air navigationOntario.
