Photocopied telegram from Colonel David C. Schilling, U.S. Air Force, to William P. Lear, circa 1952. Congratulates Lear on the performance of the F-5 autopilot. Includes a photocopied article from the June 28, 1952 issue of "Newsweek," describing a transpacific flight made by Republic F-85G Thunderjets of the 31st Fighter-Escort Wing. A typed note states that the lead planes of the group were equipped with F-5 autopilots.
