Lear about their 1956 flight to the Soviet Union, recorded shortly after their return to Switzerland, circa 1956. The Lears recount the story behind the flight, beginning with their initial flight to Berlin, their interactions with the Russian embassy in East Berlin, and their flight to Moscow via Vilnius, Lithuania. Bill Lear then discusses his experiences in the Soviet Union, such as showcasing his Cessna 310 to Russian officials and touring a Tupolev aircraft. He also defends himself against accusations that he divulged confidential information. Other topics discussed include Soviet aeronautic and radar technology, Bill Lear’s thoughts on American-Soviet relations, and his business ventures in Europe. Bill Lear is the primary speaker throughout the recording, though Moya interjects occasionally with additional details about the trip and her own opinions on certain topics.

This recording includes brief moments of audio distortion. Additionally, an edited version of this recording is also present in the collection.
