Before the tomb of American's Unknown Soldier of the last war, at Arlington National Cemetery, near the U.S. capital of Washington, General Henri Honore Giraud (center), Commander-in-Chief of the French forces in North and West Africa and co-Chairman of the French Committee of National Liberation, lays a wreath and salutes. General Giraud visited several American shrines while in the U.S. for a series of conferences with President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Allied military leaders. As he stood before the tomb, General Giraud said he was profoundly moved. Behind Gen. Giraud are Brig. Gen. L.J. Fortier (left), liaison officer of the U.S. Army, and Maj. Gen. John T.
