Personal logbook for Frank C. Leigh, used during his World War II service with the United States Navy aboard the USS Chenango (CVE-28), circa 1940s. Most of the book is blank; only the pages that contain writing have been digitized. Also included in the book is a piece of paper from Nagasaki Customs. 11 handwritten pages.
Pair of US Navy LSO paddles. Silver-tone metal handles with cut-out centers and metal outer frames. Bright pink and orange fabric strips attached vertically to center of paddle with thin metal wire, four double-sided fabric pieces per paddle. Depending on angle, paddle look either solid pink or solid orange.
Ancient Order of the Deep membership card issued by the United States Navy to Frank C. Leigh, March 2, 1945. Certifies that Leigh has been initiated as a "trusty Shellback" after crossing the Equator while serving on the USS Chenango (CVE-28).
