Report prepared by Robert K. Mason, pilot with the 850th Bomber Squadron, 490th Bomber Group, United States Army Air Forces, circa 1985. Describes an incident that took place during a bombing mission to Frankfurt, Germany on March 9, 1945. After the wing of Mason's Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress was severely damaged by flak, the crew made an emergency landing at an RAF base in Belgium. Mason notes…
