Description

Photograph of unidentified soldiers, women, and children standing by the graves of William Key Bond Emerson, Jr. and Cyril Matthew Angell, members of the 12th Aero Squadron, near Toul, France, circa May 1918. Large floral arrangements have been placed at the graves.

Inscription on album page: "Graves of Emerson and Angell. 1st men of the 12th to come down in the Toul sector."

Part of the Wilbur D. Kennedy photograph album containing six hundred and five (605) black-and-white photographs, as well as a few pieces of ephemera, circa 1917-1919. The photos trace Kennedy's military career from his infantry training in the United States to his service in France during World War I and post-war service in Germany.
