Photograph of a hot springs complex, identified in the inscription as "Lin Jung," near Xi'an, China, circa 1934-1937. Based on the inscription, this is likely the Huaqing Hot Springs, where Zhang Xueliang detained General Chiang Kai-shek in 1936. Photo from album page 87.

Inscription on album page: "Lin Jung. Famous old hot springs. Gen. Chiang was resting here when detained by Marshal."

Part of the Julius A. Barr photograph album containing three hundred and thirty-nine (339) black-and-white photographs, circa 1934-1937. The photos cover Barr's time in China as a personal pilot for both Zhang Xueliang (also known as the "Young Marshal" and "Peter Chang") and General Chiang Kai-shek.
