[Letter from Wilbur D. Kennedy to Carmelite (Miller) Kennedy, June 27, 1918]

Description

Letter from Wilbur D. Kennedy to Carmelite (Miller) Kennedy, June 27, [1918]. Describes how busy it has been: "These are days full of action...You just get to bed when a bunch of Bosche come over with the intention of blowing everything off the face of the earth. We beat it for a ditch until it is over then we go back to bed." Also describes: "I've had about everything now: shelled, bombed, attacked, archied [shot at by anti-aircraft guns], only thing I have missed is the gas and am taking no chances. Have a gas mask at the ready to grab any minute. It's very exciting to say the least." One folded sheet, four handwritten pages.
