Inscription on verso: "Chief of Air Service, Third American Army. Taken at Coblenz, Jan 14, 1919. Brig. Gen William E. Mitchell, Chief A.S.; Lewis H. Brereton, Chief of Staff; Capt. Valois - French Mission; Capt. Miller; Maj. [Jaralomen?]; Lieut. Emil Schwab. This picture was taken with the Rhine as a background just after the decoration ceremony at Colbenz Airdrome."
