Typed on verso: "HQ., Tenth Air Force, China---The war was over/months ago, but these soldiers of the Tenth Air Force, caught in the middle of a conflict in Kunming, Oct. 3 were still pulling guard duty, carrying weapons and blacking out at night. Firing between the Chinese National Army and Yunnan Province troops took place right outside the Tenth Air Force compound, west of Kunming near the Stilwell Road. (Official Tenth Air Force Photo)."
