Typed on verso: "This is the AACS Control Tower at Luliang, near Chengtu. During the war this tower rendered efficient service in the airport which served as the home base of the 426th Night Fighter Squadron and the 312th Fighter Wing (West China Raiders), two US Army Air Forces organizations which furnished the fighter escort to all B-29's (Superfortresses) on their raids against Japan from the China coast. (Official USAAF Photo.)"
