Caption on adjacent album page: "Judge W. B. Wanamaker was presented with this airplane insignia that had been cut from his ship by Major Ernst Udet after Udet had shot Wanamaker down on the Western front. But the best of friends, Major Udet returns the trophy as a token of good will." Part of a scrapbook related to Dorothy (Hester) Stenzel's participation in the 1931 National Air Races in Cleveland, Ohio, circa 1931.
