Caption on verso: "FEC-47-69944. 6 Jan. 47. Defense attorney announces death of alleged Japanese war criminal: Mr. J. G. Brannon, defense attorney for Osami Nagano, who was on trial with 26 other alleged war criminals, announces the death of the one time Japanese admiral and Chief of Staff of the Japanese Navy at the time of the Pearl Harbor disaster, during a session of the IMTFE in the War Ministry Bldg., Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Nagano died from an attack of bronchial pneumonia at the 361st U.S. Army Station Hospital, Jan. 5th, after being moved from Sugamo Prison the previous day. Photographer - Whiteman."
