Caption on verso: "FEC-47-70023. 10 Jan. 47. Wake survivor testifies at IMTFE in Tokyo: M/Tech/Sgt. Jesse L. Stewart, U.S. Marine Corps survivor of Wake Island, is sworn in by Capt. D.S. Van Meter, Court Marshal, from Raton, N.M., before testifying for the prosecution against the 26 alleged Japanese war criminals, during the war crimes trials in the War Ministry Bldg., Tokyo, Japan. Sgt. Stewart was captured on Wake Island, Dec. 23, 1941, and was liberated from Tsuruga, Honshu, Japan, Sept. 11, 1945. Photographer - Whiteman."
