Title

[Film footage of Lear Motors steam-powered bus demonstration]

Description

Film footage of Lear Motors steam-powered bus demonstrations at the Leareno Stead facility, Nevada, circa 1970s. The first segment of the film depicts the bus operating in snowy conditions. The bus is shown driving on snowy roads, followed by scenes of the passengers, including William P. and Moya O. Lear, disembarking and talking amongst themselves outside a Lear hangar; several aircraft are visible in the background during these scenes. The second segment, beginning at 00:02:08, is comprised of similar footage of the bus in operation, filmed on a different day without snow. Scenes include close-up shots of the bus's Lear Vapor Turbine System, William Lear talking with the gathered crowd, and the bus driving past aircraft at the airfield. The second segment also includes internment, slightly distorted sections of audio, primarily ambient noise and incomplete voiceover clips of Lear and reporter Dave Brown of Channel 10 News.

The footage is in color and contains a mix of silence and sound.
