Bronze circular commemorative medal. Engraved in relief on one side is a plane taking off over the rising sun and a rooster weathervane. The text around edge says, "La Caravelle apporte au nouveau monde le message de la France presente a l aube de transport a reaction." On the other side of the medal engraved in relief is the symbol of a rider holding a trident surrounded by horses. There is a constellation etched into the foreground and names of various cities around the circumference of the medal.
