The text reads: "Bennett: The first man to pilot an airplane over the North Pole with his friend Commander Richard Byrd."Inscription on verso: "On May 9th 1926 flew R. E. Boyd to the North Pole. On April 16, 1928 died while attempting to rescue the crew of Trans-Atlantic plane 'Bremen.'"
