Description

The Elvie A. Myers World War I Photographs is a small collection related to Elvie Myers, an aerial photographer in the United States Army Air Corps during World War I.

The bulk of the collection is comprised of twelve (12) black-and-white photographs. Many of the images have a number on one of the front corners, such as "[G?]-568." Two (2) aerial images, one of which depicts trenches, include very brief captions on the front: "C P. 27 CDT. J. L. Burdett 12-14-18" and "D P. SPL. LT Tissot 12-16-18." The bulk of the images depict military personnel and aircraft. The aircraft are shown in flight or on the ground, and four (4) images depict aircraft accidents. Additionally, there is one (1) image of an artillery piece.

The collection also includes two (2) photocopies of military paperwork; Myers' enlistment record and Honorable Discharge, dated March 24, 1919.
