Late afternoon on this date, some of the air crew members from the 38th Reconnaissance Squadron are preparing to spend their first night in Hawaii in a 'jungle' area at the edge of Hickam Field. Right foreground is Sgt. Vance Spears, assistant crew chief of B-17E crew #2. My cot is center foreground under the tarp.
