Title

[Serviceman using radiophone to relay instructions from control tower]

Description

Photograph of an unidentified AACS (Army Airways Communications Service) serviceman using a radiophone to relay instructions from control tower, likely in the China-Burma-India Theater, circa 1940s.

Typed on verso: "Modern Aviation Demands absolute synchronization between planes in the air and ground facilities. A completely equipped AACS tower minimizes the risks of landings and take-offs to such an extent that accidents have become almost rare. Here an AACS radiophone operator is giving instructions to an AAF pilot, absolute compliance with which will result in the aircraft's coming in without mishap. (Official USAAF photo."

Stamped on verso: "Made by U. S. Army Air Forces. Watch Your Credit."
