Typed on verso: "Headquarters Army Air Forces, Shanghai: -- Preparatory to closing of the machine records section, 24th Statistical Control Unit, Headquarters Army Air Forces, China Theater, Shanghai, final inventory is jointly taken by officers of the unit and representatives of International Business Machine Corporation. Pictured, left to right, are: Mr. P. F. Pong, Manager Shanghai office of the IBM; Major Graham T. Young, commanding officer, 24th SCU; Lt. James E. Stewart, machine officer, 24th SCU; and Mr. Tennyson Hsu, chief engineer of Shanghai office of the IBM. The machinery which the unit carried to India and later to China, was leased from the IBM in the United States. It is being turned over to the Shanghai Branch of the company to relieve the Army Air Forces of the responsibility for the return of the equipment to the Unites States. (Official USAAF photo)."
