Title

[Servicemen working in control tower]

Description

Photograph of four AACS (Army Airways Communications Service) servicemen working in a control tower, China, circa 1940s. One serviceman operates a light gun while another uses a radio-telephone.

Typed caption on verso: "Here is a group of AACS men at work in the interior of a typical China tower. The GI on the extreme right is operating a 'light gun' and the GI second from left is speaking on the radio-telephone to a pilot cruising above. Their synchronized efforts will ultimately result in the aircraft landing safely, and this invariably takes place in any weather and under any emergency conditions. (Official USAAF Photo)."

Stamped on verso: "Made by U.S. Army Air Forces. [Watch Your] Credit."
