Film footage taken during two American Airlines flights, one to California and one between Tulsa (Oklahoma) and St. Louis (Missouri), circa 1939. Most of the footage is of the California trip and includes multiple aerial shots taken from an unidentified airliner, as well as on-the-ground travel footage taken in Phoenix (Arizona) and Los Angeles (California). Flight attendant Catherine Wingfield occasionally appears in some of the travel shots. Identified landmarks in the footage include the Colorado River, the Rose Bowl, Hollywood Burbank Airport, and Hollywood Boulevard. Other scenes include a football game between the University of Notre Dame and the University of California at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, a visit with friends, and a road trip to the Pacific coast. The final segment depicts shots of clouds taken during the flight between Tulsa and St. Louis.
The footage is in color and is silent.
