Film footage of the Wilmington-Catalina Airlines Douglas Dolphin aircraft, harbor activities, and beachside activities, California, circa 1930s-1940s. The footage begins with shots of a crowd near the waterfront, then transitions to a Douglas Dolphin aircraft (tail number NC967Y) being loaded into the water. Several aerial views, taken from a Dolphin or other flying boat in flight, depict clouds and boats in a harbor. The footage also includes shots of the Catalina Terminal in Los Angeles, California. The next segment contains footage of unidentified individuals at the beach and participating in various recreational activities, such as waterskiing, swimming, drinking, and boating. At the end of the footage is a 1937 Mickey Mouse cartoon, "Mickey the Messenger," which has been removed from the access copy.

The footage is in color and is silent.
