Caption on verso: "FEC-47-71939. 6 March 47. Defense witness at IMTFE in Tokyo: Mr. Takamaro Inoue, from Zushi in the city of Yokosuka, appeared as a witness for the defense, during the war crimes trials of the 26 alleged Japanese war criminals at the Int. Military Tribunal for the Far East in the War Ministry Bldg., Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Inoue graduated from Tokyo Imperial University in 1917, and then entered graduate law school. From 1926-1928, he toured Europe and the U.S. to study constitutional forms of government; 1928-1938, Mr. Inoue served as Professor of Constitutional Law at Taihoku U.; 1936-1944, he worked on research at the Institute for Research in Culture and Education; and since 1944, Mr. Inoue has been studying the present constitution of Japan.
