Description

Photograph of three men with a Waco UIC aircraft, circa 1920s-1930s. The verso inscription identifies two of the men as Wayne Thomis, Aviation editor for the "Chicago Tribune," and Howard Ailor, Waco salesman. The text "Equipped with Lear Radio Compass and Transmitter" is painted on the aircraft's fuselage.

Inscription on verso: "1927 / No name on left / Wayne Thomis - Chi Trib aviation editor / Howard Ailor - Waco salesman / Airplane Salesman - sold plane to Lear / 1935. 1st TC flight with direction finder equipment [illegible] Roosevelt Field."

Stamped on verso: "Please return to: Lear Archive / [address and telephone number in Reno, Nevada]."
