Typed caption on verso: "7993-F. Lear Autopilot Service School has record attendance. September, 1951. The first section of the Lear L-2 Autopilot service and installation school, held in the Civic Auditorium, Grand Rapids, Michigan, September 7-8-9-10, was attended by technical representatives of more than 40 aircraft distributors.
"The school is part of the Lear service plan to establish installation and service points for the L-2 Autopilot in more than 55 cities throughout the United States.
"Dr. Wm. P. Lear, Chairman of the Board and Director of Research and Development of Lear, Incorporated is shown discussing a schematic drawing to a group of 'students', after his address to the class. In his talk, Dr. Lear outlined the history of the Lear Autopilot, from the original planning to the present successes. 'Great importance must be placed on this school and the work you boys are doing', said Dr. Lear, 'for it will be the means of giving the plane-owner and pilot an installation and service point right in his 'own backyard'."
