Photograph of U.S. Navy servicemen and Joe Rosenthal (left, wearing glasses) playing cards in the photo lab, USS Essex (CV-9), circa 1943-1945. Rosenthal was the Associated Press photographer who took "Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima." The others are identified in the captions.
