Description

The Julius Christian Harland Knauss Collection is comprised of a materials related to the Naval Training Camp situated on the University of Washington campus during World War I. The materials consist of a panoramic photograph, a souvenir album (circa 1918-1919), and a magazine clipping (circa 1959,). The panorama, broken in two parts, shows the camp along the waterfront of the Lake Washington Ship Canal. The clipping includes a later image of the canal in 1959 and a map of the city of Seattle. The album contains photographs of individuals, officers, staff groups, and companies, as well as facilities and activities.
