Description

Newsreel footage of the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941, produced as part of "The News Parade" series by Castle Films, circa December 1941. The segment, titled "Japs Bomb U.S.A.!," uses title cards and brief clips to describe events prior to, during, and after the bombing. Scenes featured in these clips include Emperor Hirohito with Japanese troops, U.S. Secretary of State Cordell Hull with Japanese Ambassador Admiral Kichisabur? Nomura and Special Envoy Sabur? Kurusu, shots of Naval Station Pearl Harbor, Hickam Field, and surrounding areas during the attack, President Franklin D. Roosevelt delivering his "Day of Infamy" speech, and shots of service members, enlistees, ships, submarines, and aircraft.

The footage is in black-and-white and is silent. Please note that the title cards use derogatory terms for Japanese people.
