Caption on verso: "FEC-47-70699. 28 Jan 47. Defense attorney at IMTFE in Tokyo: Mr. Aristides G. Lazarus, defense attorney representing Shunroku Hata at the International Military Tribunal for the Far East, proposes a dismissal of the case against his defendant for lack of evidence, during the war crimes trials of the 26 alleged Japanese war criminals in the War Ministry Bldg., Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Lazarus, whose home is in New York City, attended New York U., B.A. - 1935, and New York Law School, LLB - 1939. He was admitted to N.Y. Bar in 1940; practiced with A. Walter Socolow, National Radio Broadcasting Law Authority 1940-1942, and opened his own office in N.Y.C. from Jan. to Sept. 1942. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps as a private; served in Asiatic and Pacific Theaters, and was discharged as a Lt. Photographer - Einhorn."
